Classes at Mandir

The Radha Krishna Mandir and Cultural Centre is pleased to open enrolment for upcoming cultural, musical, dance, language, and spiritual classes for all ages at our new mandir location.  Classes are planned to begin in 2026 and will be offered once a minimum of grouping expected per class is reached. Participants will be grouped by age to ensure an engaging and enjoyable learning experience.

Harmonium & Vocals

Classes are held on Mondays starting at 6:00pm for 45 minutes, Cost: $100 per month.

Tabla

Classes are held on Mondays starting at 6:00pm for 45 minutes, Cost: $100 per month.

Dolak

Classes are held on Mondays starting at 6:00pm for 45 minutes, Cost: $100 per month.

Bollywood Dance

Classes are held on Wednesday starting at 6:30 pm for 60 minutes, Cost: $40 per month

Kathak

Classes are held on Friday starting at 6:30pm for 60 minutes. Cost: $200 per three month.

Sanjay Matadin

Sanjay Matadin is a dedicated musician with over 15 years of experience in vocals, harmonium, and tabla. Sanjay graduated from McMaster University and works in the marketing and social media industry. Passionate about music, he enjoys singing soulful bhajans, lively Bollywood songs, and expressive ghazals with his talented group of friends. He performs at various events, including weddings, birthdays, religious gatherings, and more, both in Canada and abroad.

Alex Mohan

Alex Mohan is a 23 year old tabla player with a keen interest in merging his musical talents with passion for his community through concerts, weddings, and religious events. He is a recent graduate from the Toronto Metropolitan University completing his Double Major in Business and Law. He has over 15+ years of experience in the music industry performed /opened for notable artists: Atif Aslam, Salman Ali, Sunny Hindustani, Ridham Kalyan and many others. In his spare time, he enjoys teaching tabla classes and fostering spaces of learning for the next generation of tabla players.

Avani Jatindranauth​

Avani Jatindranauth is an independently trained dancer with many years of experience performing Bollywood dance, singing, and tabla at the Radha Krishna Mandir & Cultural Centre (RKMCC) and throughout the Region of Waterloo and the Greater Toronto Area. She has choreographed and organized many youth dances for RKMCC shows as well as for the broader community.

Through dance and music, Avani has made a meaningful difference in the Hindu community, inspiring children and youths through initiatives such as serving as a dance instructor for  our mandir summer camps. She now continues to share her skills and passion in her role as a Bollywood dance instructor.  Alongside her sisters, Jhanavi and Divya, she choreographs for their sister dance trio and is an avid member of  RKMCC kirtan mandali. She is grateful to her Nani, Jenny Sooknandan, and her gurus, Gauri Dhanraj and Dinesh Hansraj, for their guidance and support.

Avani is currently an undergraduate student at the University of Waterloo, pursuing an Honours degree in Legal Studies and Business.

Guru Hemant and Vaishali Panwar

Guru Hemant and Vaishali Panwar, who are renowned Kathak practitioners with over 34 years of teaching and performance experience worldwide.

Hemant Panwar is a renowned Karthak artist, Guru, and Hindustani classical vocalist, recognized for his multifaceted contributions as a performer, composer, and educator.

Trained under Pandit Rajendra Gangani in Kathak and the late Smt.Shanti Sharma, in Hindustani classical music,  he brings over three decades of experience rooted in the Jaipur Gharana tradition. His artistry is marked by intricate footwork, rhythmic precision, and a deep understanding of both dance and music. 

A prolific composer, he has significantly enriched the Kathak repertoire through original taranas, sargams, invocations, and technical compositions. His musical works, including albums such as The Creator, O My Lord Rama, and Banjari, reflect a seamless blend of tradition and innovation. He has also composed for major theatrical dance productions, collaborating closely with leading choreographers to create immersive, music-driven narratives. An accomplished performer and cultural ambassador, he has represented Indian classical arts on international stages across Asia, Europe, and North America. Based in Canada, he continues to play a pivotal role in nurturing the next generation of artists, with many of his students emerging as professional performers. Through his teaching, performances, and compositions, he remains deeply committed to preserving and advancing the legacy of Kathak and Hindustani classical music globally.
