Mr. Hans Madan, Trustee
As a devoted Trustee, Hans Madan plays a pivotal role in the RKMCC, actively contributing to the preservation and promotion of our cultural heritage within the Region of Waterloo. Beyond his trustee responsibilities, he is currently involved in the RKMCC’s new mandir project, sharing his expertise and contributing valuable insights to this project. Having lived in the Region of Waterloo since 1968, Hans retired from a successful career as the Director of Planning for the City of Cambridge in 2006. Alongside his professional achievements, he holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of Western Ontario and a Bachelor of Environmental Studies from the University of Waterloo.
In addition to his trustee and project contributions, Hans has been actively engaged in community service. He served as a founding member and held crucial leadership roles as the former Vice President and President at the Cambridge Multicultural Centre during its formative years in the 1980s. His diverse contributions reflect a lifelong commitment to both professional excellence and community enrichment. Married to Kiran Madan, Hans is a proud parent to two grown children and a delighted grandparent to three.
Mr. Harideo T. Prashad, Trustee
Harideo has been a resident of the Region of Waterloo since 1972, actively contributing to the growth of the Hindu community. Throughout his 35-year career in the automotive industry, he served as a quality control professional before transitioning into retirement. Despite the demands of his professional life, Harideo has been a consistent presence at RKMCC since the 1980s supporting in many capacities. Harideo finds joy in the art of music, showcasing proficiency in playing musical instruments and participating in the rendition of kirtans and bhajans. In 2014, he was elected as the President at RKMCC, where he discharged his duties with the steadfast support of an exceptional team. Following his tenure as President, Harideo assumed the position of Trustee at RKMCC, a role he continues to uphold with dedication. Motivated by his unwavering devotion to Bhagwan and a profound commitment to his Hindu community, he derives satisfaction from contributing to the well-being and growth of RKMCC’s family.
Pandit Deo Doobay, Trustee
Pandit Deo Doobay, a Trustee and a spiritual advisor with the RKMCC, exemplifies unwavering commitment to our Hindu community and spirituality. Originating from Guyana and rooted in a family of priests, his journey as a Panditji began under the guidance of his father, Pt. Puniram Doobay, on the East Coast Demerara. Since immigrating to Canada, he has served as a priest and leader at the London Hindu Cultural Centre for many years. His contributions extend beyond traditional roles, encompassing the delivery of enlightening pravachans, musical education, and the cultivation of spiritual awareness. Pt. Doobay’s pivotal role has not only forged a vibrant Hindu community in London, but has also left a lasting impact at RKMCC, especially during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, where he engaged the RKMCC community remotely. His engagement extends beyond the confines of mandirs as he actively conducts seminars with the youth and shares profound insights on Hindu perspectives at universities. With a notable presence as a registered marriage officer in Canada, Pt. Deo Doobay officiates at various ceremonies, including yagnas, pujas, Havans, Ramayana, and Gita paath. In addition to his spiritual pursuits, Pt. Doobay holds a Masters in Education and has carved a niche for himself in academia, serving as a college professor and administrator. His expertise and experiences reflect a harmonious blend of spiritual devotion, educational prowess, and community leadership.

Mr. Tribuwan (Tribu) Persaud, Trustee
Tribuwan (Tribu) Persaud has been involved with recycling plastics in North America since 1989, having diverted hundreds of millions of pounds of post-consumer and post-industrial flexible and rigid vinyl plastics from land fill, into products that fit easily into our day to day lives. He has spoken on sustainability and recycling at several plastics industry events; conferences and tutorials and was named one of Plastics News Rising stars in 2014. More recently Tribu was named as one of Canada’s top 50 Indo Canadians under 50 by the Indian High Commission in Canada and Maneesh Media group. In December 2024 he was named one of Plastics News Notable Names in Sustainability. Tribu has been in a leadership role at Norwich Plastics since January 2000 and is a Board Member/Secretary of the Vinyl Institute of Canada as well as Chair of the VIC’s Vin-finity Sustainability Steering Committee. He is also an active member of the Vinyl Sustainability Council’s V-cycle task force (Washington, DC), and Recycling Member of the Chemical Industry Association of Canada’s Plastics Division. Tribu is also a current member of the Society of Plastics Engineers, Canadian Federation of Independent Business, The Flexible Vinyl Alliance, and the Hamilton Club. In his personal time outside of work and volunteering, Tribu is an avid poet having composed hundreds
of poems including English Translations of seminal Vedic prayers as well as poems on Vedic philosophy.
Tribu is also a researcher and Freemason where he is a Past Master and current Trustee of Hugh Murray Lodge No 602 AF&AM in Hamilton, ON and is a 3rd Degree Master Mason assisting with fund raisers for the community, blood donor clinics, and community groups like the Radha Krishna Mandir and Cultural Center in Cambridge, ON – where Tribu also serves as a Trustee and was a former Director and Vice-President. Tribu is Married to Radha Persaud and they and their three children cherish practicing Vedic Indo-Caribbean Culture in Waterloo Region and proudly promote Dharma in their home and in their lives: believing most in service to our planet and humanity.
